Goodie Mob Gears Up For 11-Date Reunion Tour
Published 10/05/2009, by Allen Starbury

Goodie MobLegendary southern group, the Goodie Mob, are set to head on their first tour in ten years, as all its original members have signed on to participate.

In associated with Rock The Bells organizers, Guerilla Union, the upcoming tour is slated to kick off on October 15 in New Orleans and continue through November with stops in Dallas, Denver, New York and DC, before things come to a close in Connecticut on November 15.

Tour highlights include a stop at The Cypress Hill SmokeOut on October 23 at the San Manuel Amphitheatre and festival grounds in San Bernardino, CA, and the blowout NYC show on November 13 at the Hammerstein Ballroom on which Goodie Mob and Scarface will be joined by Tech N9ne and Slaughterhouse.

Universally recognized as a pioneering group, Goodie Mob (consisting of Cee-Lo, Big Gipp, Khujo, and T-Mo) helped introduce southern rap to mainstream America, and put Atlanta on the map along the way. The group is credited with having invented the runaway term "dirty south."

Goodie Mob recently surprised fans in Atlanta when they showed up on stage at a free Nelly concert, leading the way for more reunion shows across the nation.

"The reunion was inevitable," said Cee-Lo. "The void in today's music and marketplace ironically has become the very place prepared for us. There's a need and a want for what we do and represent as The Mob. Consider the tour a mission ... an order if you will. The last of a living breed, the Goodie Mob marches on."

The tour's "very special guest" is none other than Houston rap legend Scarface, who helped pioneer southern music as well alongside his group the Geto Boys.

Goodie Mob reunion tour dates are scheduled as follows:

10/15 - New Orleans, LA @ House of Blues
10/17 - Austin, TX @ Stubb's Waller Creek Amphitheatre
