Royce Da 5'9 Confirms That Slaughterhouse Is In Talks With Shady Records

By Allen Starbury   |   Published 09/29/2009

Royce Da 5'9Last week, after the new Drake music video for "Forever" leaked to the internet, questions were raised about the hip-hop foursome Slaughterhouse and their cameo in Eminem's scene of the clip.

Shortly after the video dropped, radio personality Miss Info posted a blog entry reporting that insider said their appearance wasn't just Em plugging the group, but it was an unannounced confirmation that Slaughterhouse are in negotiations with Em's Shady Records.

"That Slaughterhouse appearance in 'Forever' was indeed a non-verbal announcement of the contract negotiations going on behind the scenes," Miss Info wrote. "For the past month, both sides have been working towards bringing the group to the Shady label, and that the gathering of Em and the guys at the shoot is the first of more collaborations to come."

Now, Slaughterhouse member Royce Da 5'9 is confirming the speculation. In an interview with MTV, the rapper says there have been talks, but nothing is inked just yet.

"It's very much what it looks like," Royce said of rumors of their alliance with Eminem. "That's always a possibility. It's conversations being had, very good conversations. I just did an interview recently and they asked me to a address the rumors. I said, 'Rumors are what they are, people see things and they jump to a conclusion.' I never said it wasn't going to happen -- I left it right there in the middle. I think it would be a great thing if it could happen."

According to Royce, the deal possibility has been on the table for quite some time. Right now, he's just waiting on the opportunity to arise.

"I've been talking to Em and Paul for a long time," Royce added. "With this particular situation, things are falling into place. Everything is in place where it's supposed to be. I'm very prepared [for] when the opportunity presented itself. It's a time where there's things they need over here and certain things we need in order to move over there. I think it's a good marriage. Like I said, I just hope it can happen."

What do you think? Would a move to Shady Records be a good move for Slaughterhouse? Or, would it mean time sitting on the bench waiting like other past Shady Records artists?

Good look without a doubt, as long as they don't rely on Dre and Em beats which could lead up to a long hiatus cause of their damn need for perfection, but i've been itching for another Em/Royce collab for a minute, make it happen Marshall!!!!!

I HAVEN'T HEARD THEIR PROJECT SO I DON'T KNOW WHAT THEY SOUND LIKE TOGETHER. BUT IF EMINEM IS GETTING INVOLVED IT COULD BE POSITIVE.
