After ten million albums sold worldwide, Warren G is gearing up for his seventh studio album The G-Files, set for later this month.
The upcoming self-produced album features an all-star cast of talents from Travis Barker and Snoop Dogg to Ray J and Raekwon. Its current single is "100 Miles & Runnin," featuring both Rae and the OG hook man, Nate Dogg.
In support of The G Files, Warren G is gearing up for a 21-city national tour, kicking off with his record release party on October 1st at the Roxy in Los Angeles. From there, he'll head out stopping in Austin and Dallas in Texas, New Orleans, Brooklyn, Boulder, and Seattle, before things coming to a wrap during its final stop in San Francisco on November 24th.
The veteran west coast rapper is an OG in the game, boastin a multi-platinum sales and a smash hit single in the 90s called "Regulate." Back when most artists on the West -- such as Dr. Dre, Snoop and Tupac -- were signing with LA's Death Row Records, Warren G walked a different path and signed with East Coast label Def Jam in 1994.
Def Jam founder, Russell Simmons, later cited Warren G's signing as "a turning point" for Def Jam Records and its subsequent mega-success. "After that, Def Jam never looked back," Simmons wrote in his book Life and Def.
Today, Warren is looking forward to getting back on the road.
The G-Files hits stores September 29.
