Drake's Official So Far Gone Release Hits Stores
By Allen Starbury ♦ Published 09/15/2009

DrakeBuzzing rapper Drake is officially a Young Money/Cash Money millionaire, and is starting off his career with the official release of his uber-popular mixtape, So Far Gone, while he readies his full-length debut for early next year.

So Far Gone contains seven songs, including the huge hit, "Best I Ever Had," which claimed the no. 1 spot on Billboard's R&B and Hip-Hop Songs chart, as well as the Ringtones chart. It also boasts "Successful," Drake's newest single featuring Lil Wayne and Trey Songz, which is swiftly climbing the charts as well.

Lil Wayne makes multiple appearances on release, turning up alongside Young Jeezy on "I'm Goin In" and again on "Uptown," which also features an assist from Bun B. Other highlights on So Far Gone include the tracks "The Calm," "Fear" and "Houstatlantavegas."

"Drake has what it takes to represent Young Money to the fullest," said Lil Wayne. "When I first heard him, I saw that he had the motivation, the drive, and the raw skills. Young Money is the place for Drake to take his sound to the next level."

"We are extremely proud of Lil Wayne, the launch of Young Money Records, and the roster of hot new talent that Wayne is getting ready to introduce to the world," added Ronald "Slim" Williams, Co-CEO of Cash Money Records. "Drake is a talented individual and a humble person with a tireless work ethic. We're happy to have him as part of the Young Money/Cash Money family."

So Far Gone is available in stores now.

Drake is a Canadian-born artist who grew up in Toronto and Memphis. He first appeared with Lil Wayne on 2007's "Man of the Year", after making a buzz worthy impact on the mixtape scene.

His collaborations with Eminem, Kanye West and Jay-Z are among the most exciting releases yet in 2009. With so much so quick, it seems as though Drake can only go bigger as his career progresses.

    I'm sorry...but why would u buy something u can get for free? Plus, it's not even all the songs. I overlooked this, and bought "Forever" on iTunes instead.

    @N I 4 N I :
    I know that. But why would u buy something that u can get for free. All I said was that instead of wasting my money on material I've had for free for a long time, I bought the single Forever. Anybody with 2 eyes can see that that song isn't on the EP.
