50 Cent Weighs In On Kanye West's VMAs Incident -- 'I'd Black His Eye'
Published 09/15/2009 · By Allen Starbury

2009-09-15 - 50 Cent and Kanye WestOk, another person is reacting to Kanye West's rude interruption of Taylor Swift's VMAs moment ... this time it's 50 Cent.

The hip-hop heavyweight recently sat down with Canada's Much Music, weighing in on the Kanye/VMAs debacle.

"That was interesting," 50 said. "When you're nominated for the first time ... what you saw from me in 2004 was the Grammys. When I went up, Evanescence won Best New Artist and it was like, I'd sold 12 million records. That's the largest debuting hip-hop album today and I was overlooked and I still don't have a Grammy. It's been 13 nominations. It's because I wrote [about] the harsh realities, [so] I've been overlooked, completely. So when you got an artist there for the first time and you go and you wanna tell them, 'Well, you know, Beyonce is great.' There's nobody that's confused in that actual area. But Taylor Swift is great and is new."

He goes on to say that no matter how much Kanye apologizes, he can't give Taylor Swift back that moment. Then, Fiddy offers up Kanye a choice next time.

"At that point, you can't replace it," 50 added. "Even an apology can't replace what it feels like for the very first time receiving that award. Now in her head, 'My first award was Kanye West.' And it's damaging. I wish he would come take one of my awards so I can black his eye in front of everybody."

Since the incident on Sunday (September 13), Kanye has been the hot topic across the net. Immediately following his VMAs moment, he's received a lot of backlash, not just from blogs, but also other celebs.

He's offered three apologies -- two from his blog, and one on last night's appearance on the "Jay Leno Show" where he got a emotional as he admitted he was in the wrong.

"Actually someone's emotions that I stepped on and it was very ... it was rude, period. I'd like to be able to apologize to her in person," West said.

I feel yeah Kanye West apologized but if someone had taken the spotlight from him he would have went crazy, and i agree with what 50 says i mean come on dude it’s not all about you, he’s starving for attention. If Beyonce didn’t get mad about getting that particular award WHY is Kanye worried about,he’s crazy. Also they showed Kanye on the red carpet with his girl gulping down Hennessy in a bottle(blame it on the ALCOHOL)

50 sucks … But I’m glad someone of is caliber, in the Hip Hop, scene is not condoning Kanye’s “keepin’ it real” behavior. I love Kanye’s music but, he is a jerk. Real asshole move he pulled.

giantyeahhim - September 15, 2009 at 9:24 pm

Does anyone think Kanye would have pulled that if someone his own size and likely to thump was up there? He displayed his cowardice at every turn. He ran up on some little girl and then buckled under the backlash. He is only apologizing because EVERYONE is denouncing him.

Kaje - September 16, 2009 at 11:36 am
