Tyler Perry is good as gold these day, and with his latest flick, he was able to takeover the weekend box office.

Perry's latest movie, "I Can Do Bad All By Myself," features Taraji P. Henson "as a hard-drinking nightclub singer forced to care for her delinquent niece and nephews," said the Associated Press, while Perry himself plays his cross-dressing alter-ego, Madea.

The film took in more than $24 million to claim the weekend box office's top spot. It's Perry's second film this year to open at #1. His February film, "Tyler Perry's Madea Goes to Jail", debuted in the top spot with $41 million.

Right behind Perry's flick is the animated "9", raking in $10.9 million this weekend. The flick is about hand-stitched dolls who represent the last vestige of humanity after a war between man and machine.

Other wide releases included the horror flick "Sorority Row" which came in at #6 with about $5.3 million, while the Kate Beckinsale thriller "Whiteout" placed at #7 with $5.1 million.

"Inglourious Basterds" landed at #3 in its fourth week, pulling in another $6.5 million to put its domestic total over $100 million.

Next weekend will see the release of the Sony anamation "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs," the drama "The Informant!," the Megan Fox horror "Jennifer's Body", and the romantic comedy "Love Happens."
