Months after a photo of a bruised Rihanna surfaced, following the highly publicized assault from Chris Brown, two LAPD officers have been put on leave as a part the ongoing investigation into the photo's leak.
According to the L.A. Times, the officers have been identified -- by an unnamed source -- as nine-year vet Rebecca M. Reyes, and her roommate, rookie officer Blanca Lopez.
A photo of Rihanna was taken shortly after the incident with Brown back in early February. Two weeks after the incident, TMZ posted the photo on their website.
They did not reveal how the photos were leaked though.
An internal investigation was launched by the LAPD to determine the source of the leak. Both officers had been "assigned to home", pending the outcome of the probe.
Lawyer Ira Salzman said her client, Reyes, "did not do anything for financial gain. She did not sell the photo."
Lopez's attorney did not comment on the situation, and neither did the LAPD.
The Associated Press says that it's a misdemeanor charge for a law enforcement officer or employees of the department to profit by leaking confidential material.
