Dallas-based producer duo, Play-N-Skillz, announced this week their new label deal with SRC/Universal for their own imprint, G4 Muzik.
"Play-N-Skillz have been trend setters for a long time," said Steve Rifkind, SRC Founder. "The music that they make is incredible and they're innate knack for finding great talent is very impressive."
"We are extremely excited to be a part of the SRC/Universal Records family," added Play. "This is an amazing opportunity for us to work with Steve Rifkind, one of the most influential record executives in the last 25 years."
Up first from G4 Muzik will be rapper Inertia, also from Dallas. His first single is "Body", featuring Slim from 112, which will hit radio in the next month.
In addition, Play-N-Skillz have been in the studio working with Nelly, Bun B, Pitbull and Hurricane Chris, to name a few.
They have also won an ASCAP Award this year and scored their second Grammy for producing Lil Wayne's hit single "Got Money", featuring T-Pain.
"This label deal will allow us to showcase our executives side as well as our creative and artistic sides," said Skillz. "All of our hard work is paying off and I am excited for the future of G4 Muzik."
