One of the underground's most popular MCs is ready to release a new album. His name is Kool Keith.

In mid-October, the rapper -- known for his countless alter-egos -- will release a new album titled Bikini's & Thongs, which he crafted alongside Denis Deft and Yeti Beats.

Already, the album's single, "Executive Suites," is becoming a constant banger on college radio stations.

Although he's released over 10 albums since 1996, his fans stay thirsty for new material. Keith released his first notable solo single, "Earth People," in 1995, under the name Dr. Octagon, followed by the release of Dr. Octagonecologyst the following year. The album's production -- by Dan the Automator and scratching by DJ Qbert -- was acclaimed by critics, and led to the project being released nationally by DreamWorks Records.

The following year, he released First Come, First Served under the alias "Dr. Dooom," receiving positive response from critics. Music journalist, Robert Christgau, said that "No rapper has ever imagined such disgusting apartments -- lurid locales with fluorescent cereal on the floor. More than all the 'body parts in shopping carts,' it's the decor that puts the 'fake gangsta hardcore stories' Dooom despises to shame."

AllMusic reviewer, Steve Huey, wrote that "The second half loses a bit of focus, as it gets away from the concept, but overall it's pretty consistent".

Having toured extensively over the last five years, Keith has gained a legendary status for his live shows and his vivid and eccentric presence. Recently bringing back his iconic character "Dr. Dooom", with the release of Dr. Dooom 2, the rapper has cemented his place in rap lore as one of the most creative artists to ever pick up the mic.

The Bikini's & Thongs album should prove no different. It hits stores October 13.
