Blink-182 Cancels Two Tour Dates, So Travis Barker Can Mourn Loss of DJ AM
By Ronnie Gamble ♦ Published 09/01/2009

Blink 182DJ AM's sudden death last week has hit people hard, especially those closest to him. Blink-182 is one of them.

The three man band -- consisting of Mark Hoppus, Tom Delonge, and AM's performing partner Travis Barker -- have canceled two more dates of their tour, in addition to Monday's (August 31) New York stop, following the death of the popular DJ.

Blink's bassist Mark Hoppus released a statement via his blog (PickRSet.com), saying they plan to reschedule their Wednesday (September 2) show in Cleveland, as well as their St. Louis tour stop on Thursday (September 3).

After much thought and consideration, Blink-182 has rescheduled their next two shows in order for Travis Barker to mourn the loss of his dear friend Adam Goldstein. Blink-182 will now play St. Louis, MO on Sept 29 and Cleveland, OH on Sept 30. To accommodate the change, shows in Charlotte, NC and Atlanta, GA have also moved to October 6th and 7th respectively. All previously purchased tickets will be honored and the band will resume their current tour on September 4th in Kansas City, MO.

Travis, Mark and Tom would like to thank all their fans for their support during this difficult time. For additional information, visit www.blink182.com.

Barker was a close friend of DJ AM, and the pair performed numerous times as a duo, with AM spinning and Barker on the drums.

Also, less than a year ago, the pair escaped death in a plane crash in South Carolina, caused when their private plane's takeoff was aborted right before lift off. Four people died in the crash, including two pilots, and Travis' friends, Chris Baker and Charles Still.

Ok this is a BIG ket down, but do we still go to the concert scheduled for tomorrow AND go to the concert on the 30th or what?

  • Gee Eff

No shows on Sep. 2 & 3, Bryan. Those shows are rescheduled for Sep. 29 & 30. The tour resumes on Sep. 4th in Kansas City, MO.

I think that the fans should support him in his time of mourning.
