DJ AM In Recent Interivew: 'Crack Is My Drug Of Choice'
Published 08/31/2009 · By Allen Starbury

DJ AMAll weekend, the web has been talking about the sudden death of DJ AM, who was found dead in a New York apartment on Friday (August 28).

If you've been keeping up with the details, you know by now that a "crack pipe" and bottles of prescription pills were found.

AM (real name: Adam Goldstein) was a recovering addict, who had been sober for years. While its come out, that he was getting over a break-up, his death has been ruled a accidental overdose, and not a suicide like some sources had speculated.

In a recent interview with MTV, in support of an upcoming reality show about drug abuse, the late DJ detailed an episode where he bought a crack pipe, just to show how easy they were to obtain.

During the clip, he revealed that crack was his drug of choice. "I bought a crack pipe ... that was my drug of choice. And I walked out and I'm holding it ... and then I realized after I was holding it that my palms were sweaty and I was like, 'Wait a minute, this is not smart for me to be holding this.'"

Crack was found by his lifeless body when authorities arrived onto the scene, dead from an apparent drug overdose.

I was a drug addict myself (addicted to crystal meth), so I know how difficult the battle against addiction is. For me, my faith in Jesus Christ has been the rock thats kept me stable and focussed.
My heart goes out to DJ AM. A lot of “I wish things could have ended differently”. I hope people learn from this unfortunate turn of events – Drugs are not something to toy with. If you have a drug problem, seek help, and find a support system.

Kenneth Tamara Jesus is the only way to stay on the right road. I wish someone would of told him that. But I can’t believe he killed himself and he survive the crash. It’s very hard to get off any type of drug… May the lord have mercy.

and they laugh at me when I told them crack was making a come back. It’s not funny now!!!!

I know how you feel I use to be addicted to flintstone vitamins back in a day
it took years to stop, one time I jump out a moving car and broke in a food store and stole 9 boxes of it. My doo doo was green and yellow for a month
