The news of DJ AM's sudden death on Friday (August 28) shocked not only fans, but also the celebrity world, of which he had many friends. His passing even prompted the Palms Casino in Las Vegas to black out a few letters to pay respects to their house DJ (as seen in the pic above, courtesy of @DJScene1).

As the word spread since then, Twitter went crazy with AM updates, and the phrase "RIP DJ AM" became a trending topic quickly. Celebrities paid their respects, while other expressed their utter shock.
