Rapper 50 Cent had a big day planned in his old Queens neighborhood on Sunday (August 30), called "Family Day," but it has been canceled due to security concerns.
According to the New York Post, the fair was set to go down at a school yard in the Jamaica Queens section of New York, where 50 grew up and was shot in the 2000.
Authorities had concerns that 50 Cent's appearance in his old neighborhood could spark violence, thus the Sunday's event has been canceled.
50 Cent's manager, Chris Lighty, told the paper that they are trying to work out new arrangements with police to the event scheduled again.
Police also worried whether or not they would be able to have enough officers on hand to deal with crowds and keep the peace.
When a new day is scheduled, info will be posted over at 50's website, ThisIs50.com.
