MLK park has teamed up with former B2K member Raz B and G.A.P. (Grandparents As Parents) for a back-to-school "celebrity school drive" in Los Angeles, California this upcoming Saturday (August 29).
The event is free, and will feature live performances by Daniel Curtis Lee (Zeke & Luther) and Hazel E, while Raz B will serve as host.
Raz, assemblyman Mike Davis, the cast members from BET's "The Game", Eva Pigford of "America's Top Model," and others will be giving out backpacks, and others back-to-school items in giftbags.
There will also be games, free giveaways, safety tips, and everything needy parents and grandparents will need to get kids ready for school. Mobile health trucks will be on-site with free blood pressure screenings, immunizations and diabetes testing.

It takes place at MLK Park in Los Angeles at 3916 S. Western Ave. It starts at 12 noon on Saturday (August 29).
G.A.P. is an organization designed for grandparents or other relatives who are primary caregivers to their at risk children. It was formed in 1987 by Ms. Sylvie de Toledo as a reaction to the increase of abandoned children due to the drug epidemic.
The organization's services include emergency referrals for food, shelter, crisis counseling, support groups, workshops, educational programs, advocacy on behalf of caregiver families to schools, doctor and the legal system, and more.
