Suburban Noize Records Preview Full Hip-Hop Cover Song Compilation Via MySpace
Published 08/25/2009, by Ronnie Gamble

2009-08-17 - Subnoize SouljazThe Subnoize Souljaz, who we previously reported were releasing a project that covers classic hip-hop tracks called Blasts From The Past, has posted the entire album on their MySpace page (MySpace.com/SubnoizeSouljaz) for streaming purposes.

This way, you can be the judge yourself before copping it.

The album features the entire Sub Noize battalion -- the Kottonmouth Kings, Big B, Saint Dog, Sen Dog, Potluck, and others -- covering classic hip-hop tracks such as NWA, Snoop Dogg, Public Enemy, LL Cool J and Tupac.

"I think this was an important record for us to get out to fans, because it shows the roots of the underground and where a lot of the groups on the album came from," says Brad X from Kottonmouth Kings. "There wouldn't be a Kottonmouth Kings if groups like NWA and Public Enemy hadn't paved the way for us to be here. All the songs on this record are classic tracks that have stood the test of time and still sound as relevant today as they did when they were originally released."

"Suburban Noize has created a cool roster of underground of artists. It's cool to see them showing respect to the elders of hip-hop by putting this project together," added Sen Dog from Cypress Hill. "This album will expose a whole generation of new underground kids to the some of the classic hip-hop artists that they might not otherwise have heard before. For me, it was an honor to track Chuck D and Flav's joint 'Bring The Noise' for this album."
