 Beanie Sigel was arrested early Sunday morning (August 16) in New Jersey on a marijuana possession charge while on his way to a performance.
According to the Burlington County Times, the 35-year-old rapper (real name: Dwight Grant) was stopped by police for a routine traffic violation, which resulted in the discovery of marijuana, less than 50 grams worth said the report.
Sigel, the driver and another passenger were all arrested and charged with marijuana possession of under 50 grams.
All parties were "not believed to be in jail", said Sgt. Julian Castellanos, spokesman for the New Jersey State Police.
However, his scheduled performance at Kelly's Bar was canceled due to the arrest.
