2009-07-29 - DJ Hero Renegade EditionActivision, the people behind the popular Guitar Hero video game title, are gearing up for the release of their highly anticipated, new DJ Hero title. This week, they announced the release of the game's Renegade Edition, featuring rap superstars Jay-Z and Eminem.

The upcoming special version of the game will include a premium Renegade turntable controller, hardshell turntable carrying case designed by artist Shepard Fairey that converts to a performance-ready DJ stand, and an exclusive Jay and Em 2-CD pack featuring unreleased tracks.

Expanding upon the revolutionary easy to pick up/challenging to master gameplay mechanics developed and refined in Guitar Hero, DJ Hero delivers an all-new interactive music experience that allows players to rule the party and not only experience but to hear music in an all-new way.

It boasts over 100 individual songs, highlighted in over 80 unique never-before-released mixes that blend genres of music, including hip-hop, R&B, pop, rock and electronica.

Also unique about DJ Hero is its turntable controller made exclusively for the title. It immerses fans into the authenticity of DJ culture and a sea of music as they utilize and master various DJ techniques including scratching, blending, cross fading and sampling, while leaving room for creative expression with a variety of effects and player chosen samples and scratches, transforming a face in the crowd into the life of the party.

At press time, it was unknown what the Renegade Edition would retail for, but it is available for preorder at DJHero.com.

The standard version of the game retails for $119 and goes on sale October 27.
