Juice Crew Biopic Still At A Standstill, Keke Palmer Wants To Play Roxanne Shanté
Published 07/24/2009 · By Miles Bennett

Video Thumb - 2009-07-24 - KekeRoxanne Shanté's 80s classic, "Roxanne's Revenge", helped the rapper and her fellow Juice Crew members go down as legends. Finally, there is talk of a film and singer/actress Keke Palmer hopes she takes the lead role.

The still-being-talked-about Juice Crew biopic called "Vapors" is a project she's very much interested in, but tells MTV News that the guys behind it are still trying to raise money to begin production.

"It's been floating around for some time now," KeKe said. "They don't necessarily have the money to do it yet. But I would love for people to see me be a rapper, to play Roxanne Shanté from the Juice Crew."

Rumors have Nas playing Kool G and David Banner playing Biz Markie, but nothing is confirmed just yet, and the film still seems to be in the beginning stages.

The script was co-written and would be helmed by Furqaan Clover, who directed shock jock Wendy Williams' biopic "Queen of Media" in 2008.

"Vapors" follows the Crew from their origins in New York City's Queensbridge projects through the breakout successes of its many members.

I seen Keke Palmeron 106 and Park the other day. No disrespect to her (I know she’s just a kid), she was all geeked up on that show like she ate mad candy or something. Lmao

How is playing Roxanne Shante being the “lead role” in a pic about the Juice Crew? The lead roles would be Biz Markie, MC Shan, Mr. Magic, Marley Marl…Roxanne Shante was part of what put Juice Crew on the map, but it was their battles with Boogie Down Productions that really gave them a name.
