 Nas and his estranged wife Kelis welcome a baby boy into the world on Tuesday (July 21) and his name is Knight, according to a video clip.
The rapper appeared in a video posted online by Video Music Box on Tuesday, in which a happy Nas announced the birth and name to viewers.
"My son is born today, so shout-out to my son, Knight," Nas said
Kelis went into labor on Tuesday, and Nas was reportedly on his way "to the hospital to be with her."
Update: Kelis confirmed the birth of her new son Thursday morning (July 23). Knight Jones was delivered at around 9 pm pn Wednesday (July 22) night, and weighted in at a healthy 7.8 lbs. He wa delivered naturally, with her mother and sister in the room.
Unfortunately, the newborn has arrived in the midst of a bitter divorce battle, in which Kelis is seeking a hefty $20,000 a month in child support, while Nas is thinking more along the lines of $5,000.
The couple wed in January 2005 after a two-year engagement, but Kelis shocked everyone when she filed for divorce in May.
