Published 07/10/2009 · By Allen Starbury

Bounty KillerJamaican reggae and dancehall star, Bounty Killer, was arrested on assault and other charges on Thursday (July 9), stemming from an altercation with an off-duty policeman nearly two years ago.

According to Reuters, the artist's car was being used to block a road in Kingston, Jamaica in September 2007, while he spoke to some fans. When the officer asked Bounty Killer (real name: Rodney Pryce) to clear the road, he was attacked, beaten, and threatened with a gun.

The incident finally culminated with Bounty Killer being charged with assault, unlawful wounding and illegal possession of a firearm, after a lengthy investigation.

If convicted, he could face up to 15 years.

I feel the OFF DUTY police officer should have enjoyed his day off. Not saying what happened to him was deserved because it wasn’t. The off duty police officer knew who Bounty was. I’m pretty sure his encounter with the fans wasn’t going to last all day.
