Raekwon's OB4CL2 Album Pushed Back Due To Leak, Clearances
Published 07/02/2009, by Allen Starbury

RaekwonEvery hip-hop fan has waited for years for the release of Raekwon's sequel to his classic Only Built 4 Cuban Linx album, and it was finally set for August. However, it's been pushed back again.

The Wu-Tang vet recently let his followers know on Twitter that OB4CL2 has been pushed back to September, due to a few obstacles.

"I had to push the album back to Sept 8th ppl," Raekwon wrote in an update this week. "I had to push the album back to Sept 8th ppl, due to sample clearances and leakage of one of my records! OB4CL2 WILL BE OUT SEPT 8TH PERIOD!"

The long-awaited album will be released through EMI Music, via a deal he announced earlier this year. If fans remember correctly, the album was originally expected to drop on Dr. Dre's Aftermath label, but the deal never came to fruition, further delaying the highly anticipated set.

But, he found a home at EMI, and seems pleased to be there.

"I think EMI just recognized that I'm a veteran in the game and they recognize the value in [OB4CL2] and at the same time, they believe in me," Rae explained in an interview with HipHopGame. "They believe Rae still got the potential to stand next to these new artists and really do his thing. They recognize that I'm a legend and that I did a lot of sh** for hip-hop. So at the end of the day, they came to the table with a sweet deal that I couldn't deny, as well as being real excited about working with me."

Look out for Only Built For Cuban Linx 2 in stores, September 8t.

rae’s overrated…only success was cuban linx like fifty eight years ago…and you wonder why it was a classic????…cuz ya boy ghostface was all over it…rza’s production was subperb…nas ripped his guest spot and the ice cream and gambino’s joints were hot cuz the OTHER clan shine….rae alone is weak yo…peep his latest shit..sounds depressed and lifeless…overrated…give it to ghost and rza for making a classic tho!

THIS ALBUM WAS SUPPOSED TO BE RELEASED SOOOOO LONG AGO….

DOES IT MAKE HIM THINK THAT GIVING HIS LATEST ALBUM THE NAME OF HIS FIRST AND ONLY REAL SUCCESSFUL ALBUM THAT IT WILL BE A SUCCESS????

I JUST HOPE IT DOESN’T DISAPPOINT THE FANS CUZ IT WOULD HURT THE REMAINING IMAGE OF THE WU TANG CLAN….
