Talk about awkward. R&B singer Chris Brown and former girlfriend Rihanna attended Game Four of the NBA finals in Orlando, Florida on Thursday night (Juned 11). But despite early reports that said the pair attended together, they were seated separately.

Both singers were sitting on opposite ends of the same row under the basket at Amway Arena. Rihanna, with a smile on her face, said in the front row, as well as Brown.

People claims that Brown and RiRi "requested to sit together" at the Finals game, but when game time came, they opted for seats in separate sections.

During half time, each retreated to separate private lounges, according to eyewitnesses.

Brown is accused of beating Rihanna after a pre-Grammy party in February in Los Angeles. The case is still pending.

The Finals appearance comes two days after Rihanna was subpoenaed to appear in court to testify in the assault case against Brown, and a day after she was out with rapper Drake who some outlets have linked to the 21-year-old.

Brown's preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 22.
