Southern Trio CunninLynguists Ready Two New Compilations
Published 06/12/2009 · By Anne van de Sande

CunninlynguistsKentucky based hip-hop trio, the CunninLynguists, are gearing up for two new album releases this year -- Strange Journey Volume One coming later this month, and Volume Two hitting fans later this year.

The new release, dropping through Bad Taste Records, is a compilation consisting of brand new material, remixes, production, and interesting collaborations. Some of those collabos include Slug of Atmosphere, Killer Mike, Khujo of Goodie Mob, Skinny Deville and Fishscales of Nappy Roots, Mac Lethal, Tonedeff, and PackFM, among others.

Its first single is the track "Never Come Down (The Brownie Song)", available in both digital MP3 and video across the web.

The CunninLynguists are a unique brand of southern hip-hop.  Sampling genres from psych-rock to blues, new romantic to polka, they have been compared to the likes of both UGK and Atmosphere in the same breath.  They have toured and shared stages with Kanye West and Aesop Rock with equal success, as well as, produced tracks for Lil Scrappy and KRS-One.  throughout their careers, they've crafted songs with international soul superstar Cee-Lo Green and politically charged indie-favorite Immortal Technique on the same album.

A headline tour is forthcoming, along with the release of Strange Journey Volume Two to be released in September/October.
