There have been rumors that singer Jennifer Hudson had a bun in the oven, but not until this weekend was the news confirmed.

The Grammy-winning singer and Oscar-winning actress celebrated her first pregnancy with a baby shower this past weekend in downtown Chicago, reports the Chicago Tribune.

"It was a baby shower, a quiet gathering of friends and mostly family," singer/actress Felicia Fields said of Hudson's party, held in a relative's home on Saturday (May 30). "They're really trying to keep it kind of quiet."

She added, "It was a nice time that we had."

While the baby is now confirmed, it's unknown how far along Hudson is and when her due date is. Some reports do say she's seven months along though.

The sex? Fields was asked whether the mommy-to-be received pink or blue gifts, she responded: "They don't know [the gender]. More yellow."

27-year-old Hudson is currently engaged to former "I Love New York" contestant Punk (real name: David Otunga), who's currently pursuing a career in pro wrestling.

A rep for Hudson had no comment.
