Over a year ago, singer Natalie Cole was diagnosed with hepatitis C, and has been suffering fro kidney problems ever since.
In March 2009, she announced that the disease has caused both of her kidneys to fail, and she was searching for a donor. After a public interview on "Larry King Live", dozens of Cole fans offering their own kidneys to help the ailing star.
Today, she has a new kidney.
According to the Associated Press, the 59-year-old singer underwent a kidney transplant surgery recently and it was a success.
Cole will postpone her summer tour, promoting her new album Still Unforgettable, as she recovers.
Since her kidney failure, she has been on dialysis three days a week. Despite the lack of kidney function, she's been on the road, working.
Cole has been on tour since the beginning of the year, visiting countries such as Istanbul, Milan, Indonesia, Manila, and London.
