Kanye West is usually busy giving the paparazzi flack for following him and sometimes even breaking their cameras, but today, he's critiquing their photos.
In an entry on his blog Wednesday (May 20), 'Ye took the time out to give one photographer props for capturing Rihanna in a photo in New York. He liked the photo so much, he showcased it, and commented on the art of it.
"Fresh ass picture!!!," Kanye wrote, regarding the image of Rihanna. "Yo, why can't all the paparazzi photos be this good? Well, obviously because most celebs just aren't Rihanna, lol.
"But on the real, this pic is hardcore. Peep the perspective shot of the city in the back. Sometimes the paps overexpose the lens or have the flash too high, taking all the emotion out of the moment. This moment is captured in time now," he continued.
According to 'Ye, today's cop of superstars are the modern day versions of their legendary counterparts such as Madonna, Frank Sinatra, and Jimmy Hendrix. And, those paps should photograph them accordingly.
"I look at our current superstars like legends in the making. Like Justin [Timberlake] is the new [Michael Jackson], Beyonce's the new Tina Turner, [Lady] Gaga's Madonna, Jay[-Z] is [Frank] Sinatra ... [Lil] Wayne is [Jimmy] Hendrix, Thom Yorke is Roger Waters, these are the champions and should be documented as such. That said, it would be dope if the paps operated with the same integrity and attention of their craft as the legends they photograph .... Good job on this one!"
Kanye's run-ins with paparazzi's have gotten him into legal trouble. Just last week, the rapper pleaded not guilty to multiple charges -- including assault, theft and vandalism -- for his infamous altercation with a paparazzo at LAX in September 2008.
During the incident, 'Ye and his road manager grabbed a shutterbug's camera and some of his accessories and smashed them on the floor, before attempting to get the footage of another camera man recording what took place.
West faces up to two and a half years in jail if convicted.
