Just a couple months after his sophomore album, Love vs. Money, debuted at no. 2 on the Billboard 200, The-Dream is already gearing up for yet another album and is in the studio putting it together.
The singer/songwriter told Billboard.com recently that he's already "seven records in on a new album," tentatively titled Love King.
"I have to pace myself 'cause there's so much time between here and then," The-Dream said, "but the seven records I do have are timeless records. Whether they come out now or later, it's not really going to matter what kind of records they are."
His latest album, Love vs. Money, has already been certified gold, thanks to the success of such singles as "My Love" featuring Mariah Carey and "Rockin' That Sh**".
In addition to Carey, the album boasts guest spots from Lil Jon and Kanye West, as well as Fabolous, Juelz Santana, Rick Ross and Ludacris on that "Rockin' That" remix.
So far on Love King, there are no featured guests. "Usually it's one of those things where I kinda wait," Dream told Billboard. "I wait 'til the end, and then who's ever doing their thing at that particular time, that's who I get."
Until Love King, which is expected later this year (maybe December), The-Dream will be on tour with Keyshia Cole, which will feature Dream alongside a five-piece band and four dancers.
The tour started this week in Cincinnati, and wraps in late June in Oakland, California.
