Jay-Z is gearing up for his own Rocawear sneaker called the R+Evolution, and images of the new kicks have already made their way to the internet.

The kicks follow several failed footwear partnerships in the past, and are set to debut in June. So far, they have been compared to both Kanye West's Air Yeezy and Supra's Skytop.

"The R+ sneaker from Shawn and Rocawear is set to debut in June and if you can't tell after looking at the picture, it resembles various other sneakers out there," said fashion blog ImFlash.com. "Don't you agree? I'm seeing a Supra with a Yeezy, throw Nike in there somewhere and then you have the R+."

2009-05-07 - Jay-Z shoeOthers shared those same criticisms: "You can just see all types of design swipes leading to this ____ (insert your own adjective) sneaker. I'm mean I'm smelling Nike's RT-1's, Y-3's, Supra's, Yeezy's ... it's just ugh. I am not pleased. I think my wallet's safe in this case.

Fashion critics, such as Hypebeast, say Jay-Z's forthcoming shoe attempt has that "grown up" look.

"The branding is minimal and decidedly a little more grown up," writes HypeBeast.

R+Evolution is presented in a simple high-top silhouette with a black leather upper, hook style lacing towards the top, and an all-white sole.

Not worth looking at. JayZ should be shot at this design. Stick with rapping and Beyonce.

it’s conservative and simple, more like a Creative Rec ripoff than anything…but I like the red laces, reminds me of the s.carters.

The shoes are decent. If the price is affordable, I think that they’ll do well. If they are over $100, I don’t see them flying off the shelves.

Yeah, the young bucks won’t feel this, but more mature heads like myself wear shit like this. We don’t need 10,000 neon colors. If I wanted all that colorful ish, I’d go back to 1990 and get me a pair of Reebok’s The Pump and rock a day-glo yellow Nike shirt, lol.

I think there smooth. Fashion is heading to a more clean and simple look these days! Yeah there compared to other labels, but its the touch of each label that makes them different. I own a clothing store and i would stock them! I wouldn’t have to be ignorant to say that JayZ doesn’t have a say in that discision though!
