Sha Money XL's Third Annual One Stop Shop Producer's Conference Hits Phoenix This Weekend
Published 05/06/2009, by Allen Starbury

Sha Money XLWhen Sha Money XL started developing his first producer panel back in 2007, he knew he was onto something big. One Stop Shop Conference isn't just a networking event that links creative minds from all over the world, Sha's annual event is recognition of all those who take the relevant steps to establish themselves in the music business.

This includes those who might have numerous platinum selling albums to their credit, worldwide acclaim and decades of experience; because at the end of the day everyone has to start somewhere.

This year's One Stop Shop will honor three of the most notorious producers of the hip-hop era. Each of these three men has been an inspiration, from their lyrical abilities to their innovative production techniques to their use of soul samples and horns; there is simply no denying their presence in the music world today.

Those men are Pete Rock, RZA and Q-Tip.

"Pete Rock had me hustling so hard to try and get an SP1200," reminisces Sha Money XL. "His drums were knocking and he is a true inspiration to me and is the reason why I put down the mic and got more into production."

"Growing up in Queens, knowing that Q-Tip was from my hood was a true inspiration for me," Sha shares. "Listening to A Tribe Called Quest, from his verses to his tracks and heavy drums Q-Tip was a true motivation for me and plenty more around that era."

As far as RZA, well producer Don Cannon says he's the reason producers try new things.

"RZA is one of the reasons producers have a different angle on sampling," says Don Cannon. "He has inspired some of the best producers in the game to get to where they are today including me."

This year's third annual OSS Producer's Conference goes down in Phoenix for two days -- May 9 and 10.

Attendees will experience workshops focusing on music publishing, artist management, studio and sound equipment, production, and artist scouting.

This year, in addition to the aforementioned three honorees, the event will also feature Nottz, Hi-TEk, DJ Premier, 9th Wonder, Jake One, and Just Blaze on the producer side. As far as artists, B.o.B, Buckshot, Black Milk and Green Lantern are all on board.
