Just a heads up. Although we previously announced the beginning of rapper/activist Paris' Hard Truth Soldiers Tour, it's been postponed while negotiations with a major sponsor is under way.
The rapper's Guerrilla Funk Touring and Promotions has entered into negotiations with Boost Mobile for full sponsorship of its upcoming Hard Truth Soldiers Tour. The tour's original start date of May 1, but has been postponed, with the revised launch date to be announced.
"Corporate sponsorship will provide us the means to more comfortably take on this tour in this economic climate," said Paris. "While we understand the initial disappointment some supporters may have with the tour's delay, it is definitely for the better, and will allow for a more rewarding experience with additional acts and much greater exposure moving forward. We tried to keep the original start date up until the last minute, but time was always tight, and we want to allow for the full participation of all of our sponsors and label partners."
Boasting an impressive 45-city schedule, the Hard Truth Soldiers Tour is not only noteworthy for its scope, but for its line-up of today's most focused and socially aware hardcore hip-hop talent. Some of the acts include Paris himself, Dead Prez, Immortal Technique, Talib Kweli, Kam, Pete Rock, Planet Asia, T-K.A.S.H., The Conscious Daughters, Uno the Prophet, Jasiri X, NYOil, Sellassie and guest performers in select cities.
The tour -- which promises to be an annual concert series - blends seasoned talent with up and coming young lions fierce in their commitment to quality music, the importance of independent media, and the ongoing fight for social justice.
