The controversy surrounding Lil Wayne and Baby's public displays of affection have been criticized amongst hip-hop circles for quite some time. But, the two rap juggernauts don't seem to care though.
If you Google search Weezy and Birdman, you'll find photos of the pair kissing, sort of like Italians greet each other, but a step further by kissing on the mouth.
English radio personality Tim Westwood recently chatted with Birdman about the "love" he shows Wayne.
"That's my son, ya heard me?" said Birdman. "If he was right here, I'd kiss him again. I kiss my daughter, my other son ...
"I mean, you have children?" he asked Westwood. "Well, if you did, you'd understand what I meant with it. I just think people took that too far man. That's my son. I'll do it again tomorrow, I'll kill for him. Ride and die for him."
Both rappers have been dissed on several occasions about the kissing, by the likes of 50 Cent, Young Buck, and Philly rapper Gillie Da Kid, after an image snapped in 2006 leaked to the internet.
On 50's diss song, "Part Time Lover," he raps: "It's more than your body baby, damn it's your brain / You make me wanna kiss you like Baby kiss Wayne and make you call me daddy like Baby do Wayne / Damn that sh** sounds gay, it's insane / I guess that's the price the lil n**** pays for fame."
Both Birdman and Lil Wayne are unfazed. In the past two years, Weezy has grown from a bonafide hip-hop star to one of the most popular artists in music, period.
He is currently gearing up for a rock style album called Rebirth.
