Guerilla Union Unveils Rock The Bells 09 Dates, Venues -- Adds Busta Rhymes, GZA To Line-Up

2009-04-28 - Rock The Bells 2009Guerilla Union, the promoters and organizers of the 2009 Rock The Bells Festival Series, has officially unveiled the dates and venues for their North America tour.

In addition to previously announced acts -- includ headliners Nas and Damian "Jr. Gong" Marley, The Roots, Big Boi and Common -- artists Busta Rhymes, the GZA and The Knux have been added to the line-up.

The 10 city tour -- which kicks off June 27 at the First Midwest Bank Amphitheatre in Chicago -— will pass throughout major music venues across North America. The stops include the DTE Energy Music Theatre in Detroit on June 28, the Molson Amphitheatre in Toronto in July 5, the Merriweather Post Pavilion in Washington D.C. July 12, and Boston's Comcast Center July 18, among other stops. And, the final stop will be at Shoreline Amphitheatre in San Francisco August 9.

In addition to top-notch musical performances at Rock The Bells, another element fans can also experience is KRS-One's Temple of Hip-Hop.

"Rock The Bells has always strived to be the world-class platform dedicated to hip-hop culture," says Chang Weisberg of Guerilla Union. "This year we are excited to announce that KRS-One and the Temple of Hip Hop will be producing unique fan experiences dedicated to cultivating hip-hop culture by hosting guest speakers, workshops, art displays, lectures, book signings and more. Plans are still being finalized, but expect a unique Temple of Hip-Hop area to be built in each city. We are going to reach out to all artists on this year's line-up to contribute their efforts to help educate and expand perspective on hip-hop culture."
