With four weeks already in stores, the "Hannah Montana: The Movie" takes the Billboard 200 for the first time. However, the new release from Day26 was right on its heels.
Right behind Miley's soundtrack, Day26 landed at no. 2 with their sophomore effort, Forever In A Day, selling 113,000 copies to open. The group's self-titled debut sold 190,000 a year ago to start, eventually selling 387,000 in the U.S., according to Billboard.com.
Landing outside the top 5 was Jadakiss' The Last Kiss, sliding to no. 6 in its second week, selling 45,000 copies, while Lady GaGa's The Fame climbed two spots to no. 8, selling 36,000 copies.
Falling outside the top 10 is Keri Hilson's debut, In A Perfect World..., selling 26,000 copies this week to take her total to just over 190,000.
At no. 15, Prince's Target exclusive release, Lotis/Flow3er, fell outside the top 10 as well, selling 22,000 copies this week.
Rounding out the top 20 is The-Dream. His sophomore album, Love vs. Money, landed at no. 20 with 19,000 units scanned. He's sold about 314,000 copies since its release date.
A new release from Pastor Troy called Feel Me Or Kill Me bowed at no. 121 this week, selling just over 4,200 copies.
According to Billboard.com, overall album sales in this past chart week (ending April 19) totaled 6.36 million units, down 18.8% compared to the sum last week (7.83 million) and down 15.2% compared to the same sales week of 2008 (7.5 million).
Year to date album sales stand at 111.7 million, down 12.3% compared to the same total at this point last year (127.3 million).
