Flesh-N-Bone, of Bone Thugs-N-Harmony fame, appeared in court last Monday (April 6), where he was arraigned for an arrest for a gun and drug possession charge at the beginning of the month.
According to the LA Times, the 35-year-old rapper (real name: Stanley Howse) pleaded not guilty to the charges and is due back in court on Thursday (April 16).
Flesh was pulled over on April 2 in Santa Clarita, Calif. by Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies for a non-functional brake light. Since the rapper is currently on parole -- after serving 7 1/2 years in prison and being released in July 2008 -- his car, as well as his home, was subjected to a search.
The paper reports that deputies recovered a 9-millimeter semiautomatic pistol that Flesh told authorities belonged to his wife, who in turn told authorities that she was a Chicago police officer.
Despite the explanation, the rapper was arrested and charged with gun possession by a felon and misdemeanor drug possession.
Flesh has five prior felony convictions, dating back more than a decade. Those include assault with a semiautomatic weapon, possession of a firearm by a felon, and assault likely to produce great bodily injury.
With his prior convictions, the rapper could be thrown back in jail, if found guilty.
Stay tuned. We'll keep you up-to-date on developments with Flesh's status.
