Mr. "This Is Why I'm Hot" lit up the evening at Citrine Lounge in New York City on Tuesday (April 8) for the release of his sophomore album, Guilt. Industry tastemakers and the like stood in line despite the frigid weather to get inside and hear Mims' latest release and catch a glimpse of the man of the hour.

The venue itself had to turn many confirmed guests away as they didn't seem to anticipate a large crowd. Inside the reddish hue of the Citrine Lounge, the atmosphere kept the vibe and anticipation of Mims' appearance lively as the drinks kept flowing and the DJ spun several crowd favorites from R&B to hip-hop.

In the VIP section, Mims' current video for his first single "Move (If You Wanna)" played in a constant loop, as the DJ played the actual record several times for the night.

Another track from the album released on the same day was "Love Rollercoaster," featuring Houston's Letoya Luckett. This had a much slower tempo as opposed to the lead single, but the ladies in attendance gave their seal of approval, as they all rocked in unison. Another ladies track that received good reception from those in attendance was "On and On". However, of the few songs that were played, there was an even balance, as some of his more street and club records were spun as well. "Makin' Money" was played a couple times, as were "This Is Why I'm Hot" and "I Did You Wrong" from his debut, Music Is My Savior.

Mims' himself showed up towards the end of the night, although some partygoers had thrown in the towel a little early. Other recognizable faces in attendance were video vixen Amber Rose, sans Kanye; and Rabbit from reality show "Real Chance of Love."

Overall those who were able to withstand the cold weather to get a listen to the album, let alone get into the lounge, seemed to be pretty pleased with what they've heard from the LP. Mims seemed determined to have this album prove that he's far more than just a ringtone rapper. Despite not having heard each track from the album, it seems as though he may have, possibly, a decent album on his hands.

Guilt is in stores now.
