After mocking the Jonas brothers weeks ago, South Park took on another musician this week, when they poked fun at Kanye West and his inflated ego.
In the episode titled "Fish Sticks," which is available online in its entirety, the cartoon's creators depicted the arrogant rapper as a "gay fish."
In the beginning of the clip, 'Ye comes out on stage before a huge crowd, who is chanting the word "gay fish." It angers Kanye so much, he storms off stage and tries to figure out why his fans would call him that, all while calling himself a "genius" and "lyrical wordsmith."
At the end of the episode, Kanye finally realizes that he can't keep his inner fish closeted anymore, tells his crew "It's time for me to stop running. A gay fish just can't live in the outside world forever," then leaps off a pier and launches into an Auto-Tuned song while humping various fish.
Now, of course, Kanye caught wind of the episode, and, as usual, responded via his official blog (KanyeUniverseCity.com). Surprisingly, he took the animated diss in stride, although he admitted that it hurt his feelings.
" 'South Park' murdered me last night, and it's pretty funny," Kanye wrote. "It hurts my feelings, but what can you expect from 'South Park?'"
Kanye's widely criticized for being somewhat of a diva, as well as an ego-maniac, but says he's working on that.
"I actually have been working on my ego. ... Having the crazy ego is played out at this point in my life and career. I used to use it to build up my esteem when nobody believed in me. Now that people do believe and support my music, the best response is 'Thank you' instead of 'I told you so!'
The way to do that, says Kanye, is to drop the bravado, and show "how dope he is" through his music.
"I just wanna be a doper person, which starts with me not always telling people how dope I think I am. I need to just get past myself," 'Ye admits. "Drop the bravado and just make dope product. As long as I act like a b****, this type of sh** will happen to me. ... I'm not actually a huge douche. I'm sure the writers at 'South Park' are really nice people in real life. Thanks for taking the time to draw my crew. That was pretty funny also."
Yes the cartoon was funny Kanye, and it's good you are taking it so well. We at BallerStatus.com salute you.
