Over the weekend, the release of Kanye West's Air Yeezy sneakers with Nike had the sneaker kids going crazy, waiting in lines for over 24 hours in advance to make sure they got a pair.
Well, the word got back to 'Ye -- who was in Hawaii filming a new music video -- about the madness the new sneakers were creating, so he began to post blog entries on his official site. He posted pictures of kids lining of at the Beverly Center in Los Angeles, and even a video of Young Jeezy giving away a pair to a fan.
With all the support, Kanye decided to film a thank you to fans. On the back of a boat, through a fisheye lens, the rapper expressed his gratitude.
"I want to thank everyone that went out and supported and cop the Yeezys," he said. "A lot of people had to pay overprice. Next time, I'm going to do the Yeezy II's. Hopefully we prepare to do some more, but that was real good to get the buzz out there, and I appreciate everybody who went out and supported it."
Showing off his own pair of Yeezys, Kanye explained that he wanted to record a quick vlog, showing off the beautiful scenery of the mountains in Hawaii.
"And that's live... why do people always say live on some pre-recorded sh**? Live from Hawaii, Kanye to the ...," he concluded before the video cuts off.
The Air Yeezys went on sale across the nation on Saturday (April 4) for a retail price of $215. According to various stores, the sneakers sold out within minutes.
Since their release, pairs of the Air Yeezys have popped up on eBay for $500 and up.
At press time, one pair was selling for $700.
