Hip-hop quartet, the Black Eyed Peas, enjoyed their best ever single-week and download totals by a group, as their new single "Boom Boom Pow" sells 465,000 in its first week.
According to Billboard.com, the B.E.P.'s new single topped the Hot Digital Songs list, and had earned the group their first Billboard Hot 100 no. 1, when it jumped from no. 39 to no. 1 this week.
Prior to the release of "Boom Boom Pow," their best single performance peaked at no. 3 for the singles "Don't Phunk With My Heart" and "My Humps" in 2005.
The Black Eyed Pease set the weekly digital sales record for a group in June 2008, when "Viva La Vida" moved 253,000.
However, the overall record for both categories was established by Flo Rida in February when "Right Round" debuted with 636,000 downloads.
"Boom Boom Pow" is the first single from the group's upcoming album, The E.N.D., due in stores June 9.
