Outkast's eclectic member, Andre 3000, was arrested in near Atlanta on Saturday (March 28), when police caught up to him for speeding.

According to local news station WSBTV, the rapper/actor (real name: Andre Benjamin) was driving down the I-75 at up to 109 mph in a 2007 Porsche Carrera, while in a 65 mph zone.

"He checked that speed on his laser device, which showed 109 miles per hour," Henry County Police Capt. Jason Bolton told Channel 2. "Traveling that fast along I-75, you're passing vehicles almost like they're standing still. And it's an accident waiting to happen."

According to police, arresting Andre was the only option. They said he told them he was driving at that speed because he'd missed an exit and had to turn around.

"He may have indicated that he was headed to a birthday party," Bolton said.

The rapper was released a few hours after the arrest, and released on $1,200 bond.

Andre is due in court on April 29 to face the charges.
