Former "American Idol" alumni, Ruben Studdard and Jennifer Hudson, for a one night appearance, where the show's top 10 contestants the former "Idol" standouts.
According to the Associated Press, Hudson is scheduled to tape a performance in front of the studio audience on Wednesday (March 25) after the live broadcast has ended.
However, it is unknown when the appearance will air. It will be the 26-year-old singer's first time as a performer on the stage that made her famous. She will most likely perform a song from self-titled debut album.
Studdard, though, will perform his latest single, "Together," on Thursday (March 26).
"Returning to 'American Idol' means a great deal to me. It's like going back home," he told People. "I get a chance to see many of the people responsible for elevating my career to the amazing level it is today. To be surrounded by American Idol's great fans and all of the fantastic people that make the show happen is a blessing and I can't wait to be a part of that world again."
Also on Wednesday, Smokey Robinson, and songwriter/producer Berry Gordy will lend their expertise as mentors. Robinson will also perform on Thursday.
While Studdard has been tapped as a performer, he says he's more excited to check out the new crop of "Idol" contestants.
"I'm excited to see all of them. They all have such unique talents and interpretations of the music," he says. "It's going to be fun to watch them all perform."
