Austin, Texas' SXSW music festival drew heavy hitters in the world of hip-hop and R&B this year. You had newcomers like Kid Cudi, Asher Roth and Mike Posner performing to raise their profiles, while more established stars like Kanye West and Erykah Badu came through to showcase new music.

On Saturday night (March 21), Erykah Badu was set to perform at the Auditorium Shores Stage with her new band, the Cannabinoids. However, her show almost didn't go down because of a stalker.

The soul singer twittered from her Dallas home about a stalker outside her house. At around 5:30 p.m., she wrote the update: "Police just apprehended [sic] a stalker in front of my house. Stay tuned for details."

She later detailed the events: "Poor chic is apparently sick. I feel so awful. Police pepper sprayed her and cuffed her. ... White woman mid to late 20s had visited my home three or so times. Brought w/ her weird writings."

Her free show was scheduled for 7 p.m., and concertgoers were lined up around the venue waiting to get in. However, after filing a police report, she finally headed off to her show. Show was delayed, but finally went down.

At the Levi's Fader Fort at around 8 p.m., Kanye West threw a showcase for the artists on his G.O.O.D. Music label, capping off a massive line-up that included Big Sean, 88-Keys, GLC, Fonzworth Bentley, and Kid Cudi.

After two hours of waiting, fans finally were in for a show, when West hit the stage at 10 p.m. With a pair of DJs, a guitarist, drummer, and a female backup singer at his back, he broke into a few verses of "Amazing," welcomed fans to his showcase, and then began to introduce artist after artist from his label, all while he fell to the background as hypeman.

In between sets by GLC, Consequence, and British crooner Mr. Hudson, West jumped in to perform some of his material --- such as Crack Music" and "Diamonds From Sierra Leone" -- to keep the crowd's attention.

It wasn't the Kanye show everybody expected. Instead, he used the showcase to proudly introduce his various up-and-coming acts.
