This week, it was "American Idol" winner Kelly Clarkson who takes the Billboard 200's top spot, but a couple R&B singers were right on her heels.
Right behind Clarkson at no. 2 is The Dream's latest, Love Vs. Money, which sells 151,000 to open. J. Holiday's Round 2 chimes in at no. 4, selling 55,000 on his sophomore effort.
In at no. 6 is Lady GaGa's The Fame, selling 47,000 copies, riding off the breakout success of her single "Just Dance."
Beyonce is holding strong at no. 8 with I Am ... Sasha Fierce with 28,000 copies sold, as she nears the double platinum mark, while Jamie Foxx's Intuition slipped from no. 6 to no. 9 with 27,000 units scanned.
That's it for the top 10.
At no. 13, T.I.'s Paper Trail sells another 23,000 copies, while Kanye West's 808s and Heartbreak falls five spots to no. 16 with just over 20,000 copies this week.
Much later down the line, Brother Ali's new album, Truth Is Here, debuted at no. 119, selling nearly 5,000 to start.
According to Billboard.com, overall album sales in this past chart week (ending March 15) totaled 6.62 million units, down 6.2% compared to the sum last week and down 16.6% compared to the same sales week of 2008.
