Houston Rockets' Carl Landry Shot In Drive-By Shooting
By Randall Stevens ♦ Published 03/17/2009

Houston Rockets' Carl LandryHouston Rockets forward Carl Landry was the victim of a drive-by shooting in Houston early Tuesday morning (March 17), when he was shot while getting fast food.

According to the Click2Houston, the NBA player had just flown in from New Orleans after their 95-84 victory over the Hornets. They landed at Hobby Airport shortly after midnight, according to a team spokesman. At around 4:20 a.m. this morning, he stopped to get something to eat. That's when the shooting took place.

Another vehicle bumped Landry's car, and when he got out of his car to inspect the damage, two shots were fired from the other vehicle as it passed him. The second shot hit Landry in the leg.

A Rockets' spokesperson said Landry was treated and later released from a hospital.

Details about the other vehicle and/or other information regarding about the suspects were unknown at press time. It is unknown whether or not the shooting was a robbery attempt.

It is also unknown how the injury will affect the rest of Landry's NBA season. Since Tracy McGrady's injury, the second-year man has been an integral part in filling the gap. He played 23 minutes and scored 12 points in their victory over the Hornets.
