Rumors surfaced last night that either a brawl, or a shooting took place at Detroit's Esko Lounge early Monday morning (March 16), involving rapper Jim Jones.
Unconfirmed reports popped up saying that Jones was either jumped by several individuals, three people were shot, etc. But Jones denies any such incident.
"Nah, negative," he told Miss Info on Hot 97 this morning."
The DetNews.com reports that two patrons for Esko Lounge were wounded in the incident that took place around 1:15 a.m. However, the men involved were not identified.
"There was a fight inside the club in which shots were fired and two men were wounded," said Detroit Police Department Public Information spokeswoman Yvette Walker told the site. "One of the men is in temporary serious condition; we don't know the condition of the other man."
Other reports have identified one of the men as local rapper Trick Trick. However, that isn't true. The rapper tells Detroit radio station WKQI that he was at home when the shooting took place.
"I ain't left this house since Saturday," Trick told WKQI's "Mojo in the Morning" program Monday morning.
While his named was attached to the shooting, well, he isn't sure about that either. Nonetheless, he's home and safe.
Initials rumors started when Detroit rapper P.L. posted this update on his Twitter page: "Club Esko. Me and Jim Jones were supposed to perform. Didn't happen. 20 n****s rushed Jim ... shots rang out. 3 people shot."
