Despite previous rumors of a possible text by Paris Hilton causing the highly publicized fight between Rihanna and Chris Brown in February, reports have surfaced identifying the unnamed woman who texted the R&B singer the night of their altercation, sparking a physical spat.
According to TMZ, the mystery woman is Brown's 39-year-old manager Tina Davis, who's help guide his career since his debut. There's been speculation in the past about the pair being romantically linked, although this has never been confirmed. However, the police report indicated that the text came "from a woman who Brown had a previous sexual relationship with."
The gossip site says that law enforcement state that the text message she sent early that February morning "talked about hooking up later -- and it totally pissed off Rihanna."
RiRi reportedly became enraged when she saw the text, slapped and hit Brown, which then escalated into a full blown fight, where he allegedly attacked her in response.
At press time, Davis did not respond for comment.
In the November 2007 of Vibe, Brown and Davis shot down rumors of a sexual relationship, telling the magazine their relationship was "strictly professional."
Since the incident with Rihanna, Brown has been charged with two felonies, assault and making criminal threats. He has yet to enter a plea, and is free on $50,000 bail and due for arraignment April 6.
