When Lil Wayne heads to court in April, there will be a surprise waiting for him. A New York judge ruled Tuesday (February 24) that a handgun found on his tour bus in 2007 can be used as evidence in his trial.
According to the Herald Tribune, Weezy's lawyer Stacey Richman argued in court that the officer falsely claimed she smelled marijuana so she could illegally board the bus. But her plea didn't work.
The rapper (real name: Dwayne Carter) is now due in court on April 20th.
Wayne was arrested back in July 2007 while in New York headlining his first concert at the Beacon Theatre. Police pulled over his bus, following the show, and found a .40 caliber handgun and marijuana.
He was charged with criminal possession of a weapon, and was released on $70,000 bail.
