The King of Pop is unloading several personal items from his Neverland Ranch in a public auction taking place in Los Angeles in April.
The auction, which will feature more than 2,000 items of Michael Jackson's personal items, is slated to go down at the Beverly Hilton Hotel from April 22 - 25, with details for every item filling a six-volume book.
According to reports, the auction will include his American Music Award for "Thriller," a velvet cape given to him by his children for Father's Day in 1998, a pair of rhinestone-trimmed socks from 1981, a basketball signed by Michael Jordan, a Rolls-Royce, and some of his own original artwork.
Also up for sale is his trademark custom-designed white right-hand glove completely covered in clear Swarovski crystals, which MTV reports will fetch somewhere between $10,000 and $15,000.
All the items up for grabs total an estimated $1.5 million to $3 million in value.
Darren Julien, president of Julien's Auctions, told Fox News that Jackson has not been "forced" into the decision to auction off his collection, despite widely reported financial troubles.
"He has never had an auction. We have been working closely with him for five months and he is in complete control of this," said Julien. "This is something that Michael is doing of his own free will. He is not being forced into it."
