Jermaine Dupri became a new kind of MVP on Friday (February 13), when he won $50,000 during the "T-Mobile myFaves Shot of a Lifetime" charity contest during NBA All-Star Weekend in Phoenix.
During a private red carpet event hosted by Dwyane Wade, Dupri was one of five players to shoot up to five basketball shots with the opportunity to win anywhere from $10k to $50k for the charity of his choice.
"I've learned a lot as a young man coming up in the ranks of the music business and saw many examples of what celebrity really means -- using your blessings to bless somebody else," said Dupri after winning $50,000. "Not for fanfare or fame, but to be able to hopefully help someone else in need."
The music mogul plans to use the money to support the Boys & Girls Club in his hometown of Atlanta.
The contest was created to officially launch the "Shot of a Lifetime" national sweepstakes, in which one lucky winner and their fave five the opportunity to play HORSE against Dwyane Wade during the Eastern Conference Finals for a chance at $50,000.
