NBA All-Star Weekend went down in Phoenix, Arizona this week. On Saturday (February 14), though, it was the high-flying act of the New York Knicks' Nate Robinson that wowed the crowd at this year's slam dunk contest.

The Knicks guard is being called Krypto-Nate because he knocked out defending champ Dwight Howard. In the dunk contest's final round, Robinson came out in an all-green Knicks uniform and leaped over the 6'11" Howard for his last jam.

"When Dwight did the Superman last year, a light bulb went out," Robinson said. "Ding, ding, ding, there it is. Kryptonite. That's Superman's weakness."

Howard scored two perfect 50 dunks on both of his first-round dunks, performing the most theatrical of the night during that first round, when he disappeared into a phone booth just off the court, emerging with a Superman cape. He then took a bounce pass from teammate Jameer Nelson and dunked the ball into a special 11-foot basket that was wheeled onto the floor.

Robinson, however, responded right back when he leaped off the back of teammate Wilson Chandler, who crouched on all fours in the lane, and jammed, sparking a roar of applause from the audience.

Other dunk contestants didn't stand a chance -- Portland's Rudy Fernandez and Denver's J.R. Smith were eliminated in the first round.

"I got the championship back to New York City," Robinson said of the win.

Taking place earlier in the day was the annual 3-Point Shootout that the Miami Heat's Daequan Cook was crowned winner in overtime, after knocking down three-point shot after three-point shot.

The Heat guard posted the best total of the competition with 19 points in the extra round, beating out Orlando's Rashard Lewis to win the title, and ending three-point marksman Jason Kapono's two-year run as king.

"It was very important for me to be focused," Cook said. "I felt this was my opportunity to show people that I should be considered as one of the elite 3-point shooters in the game, so tonight I came out and did that."

Last year's winner, Jason Kapono, came up one point short in the second round, missing his opportunity to become the third player to capture three straight titles in the event.

The Atlanta Hawks' Mike Bibby, the Pacers' Danny Granger, and San Antonio's Roger Mason were all eliminated in the first round.

In the Skillz Challenge, rookie Derrick Rose was victorious, capping off his win with a double-pump reverse dunk.

He defeated the New Jersey Nets' Devin Harris in the final round, navigating an obstacle course that consisted of dribbling, passing and shooting in 35.3 seconds, a whole 4.4 seconds faster than Harris.

"I was just taking my time, going against a great group of guys," Rose said, following the win.

Others who competed included Cleveland's Mo Williams and San Antonio's Tony Parker (who was booed), both of whom were eliminated after the first round.

Second year star, Kevin Durant, took home the prize in the H-O-R-S-E competition, after an amazing comeback to beat rookie O.J. Mayo and Joe Johnson.

Durant was almost eliminated after picking of "H-O-R-S" when he struggled to hit the long range shots, while Mayo had only two letters after he knocked out Johnson with some unique shots that included a bucket from the stands, a left-handed jumper, and an underhanded free throw.

However, Durant finally began to hit from long range, and came back to beat Mayo.

Durant also landed the Rookie Challenge-record with 46 points to lead the NBA's sophomores to a 122-116 victory over the rookies.
