 Although Usher and his camp demanded privacy in wake of a "serious" medical emergency of his wife Tameka Raymond, due to complications of a plastic surgery procedure, news outlets are finding out details.
The singer's 37-year-old wife was in Brazil, when she was rushed to São Paulo's Sírio-Libanês hospital's intensive care unit last Friday (February 6) after going into cardiac and respiratory arrest during a liposuction procedure.
According to Brazilian news outlet G1, Tameka's life-threatening condition came on as she was being anesthetized.
She was placed in an induced coma for 24 hours to stabilize her, and is currently in recovery with her husband Usher by her side.
Usher canceled his Grammy weekend appearances to be by Tameka's side, and enlisted Dr. Gabriel E. Hunt Jr., a neurosurgeon from Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, to lead her care.
